Questions & answers.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Your inventory, want list, and card lookups all work without an internet connection — changes sync automatically when you're back online. This matters at shows, where venue signal is usually saturated. Card scanning currently requires a connection.
Does it support Japanese cards?
Yes. Chestfolio covers English and Japanese cards, sourced from TCGdex — including Japanese releases, promos, and regional exclusives that never came to English. You can search and catalog Japanese cards the same way as English ones, though price coverage is lighter for Japanese cards.
Can I export my data?
Always, and it is free. One tap exports your full collection as CSV or JSON. Your data is yours, period. We watched what happened when TCG Card Dex shut down in 2023 and took collections with it.
What cards are supported?
Currently English and Japanese Pokémon TCG cards. Support for additional trading card games — Magic: The Gathering (via Scryfall), Lorcana, and One Piece — is planned for a future release.

TCGplayer market prices in USD and Cardmarket trends in EUR, both via TCGdex. Every price is labeled with its source and the date it was retrieved, so you always know where a number came from and how fresh it is. eBay comps are planned, not current.
How does the scanner handle unclear or beat-up cards?
Card scanning is still in development. The design goal is that when the match isn't certain, you see the most likely candidates and pick the right one rather than hitting a 'scan failed' dead end — and manual search is always available as a fallback. Everything else in Chestfolio works today.
